The Taconic Counseling Group is a private practice consisting of six New York licensed psychologists with university affiliation and/or postdoctoral training. Since 1975, we have been practicing child, adolescent, and adult psychotherapy, as well as performing collaborative divorce services, in Fishkill, Mount Kisco, Poughkeepsie, and Scarsdale. We are trained in a wide variety of treatment modalities, and provide psychotherapeutic and diagnostic services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Because we have six members with different areas of expertise, we can usually accommodate a person or family that requires more than one service
In our work, the members of TCG draw from a wide variety of treatment modalities and techniques. Some, like psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, relational, and existential therapies, systems theory and psychoanalysis are well established approaches. Others, like hypnosis, visualization, and EMDR, are considered more innovative techniques. It is our belief that every person and situation is unique, and we work to craft the most appropriate treatment plan for each condition. Group members also collaborate in researching and developing specialized treatment programs for trauma, marriage counseling, pre-marital counseling, children in divorcing families, and collaborative divorce.
We believe that, with the right support, people can be resourceful in finding solutions to many of the complex emotional difficulties that surround their lives.
